Three moves, in this order — loop and iterate as needed. It’s also how the writing on this site is organized.

Narrate

Find the real story. Understanding AI and working with it both require a holistic grasp of your problem, process, and goal.

Curate

Structure the materials. Organize all that context and decide what really matters to include — and the same goes for the output.

Activate

Write the chapter. Run the prompt, schedule the training — even if it’s not perfect, take action. Then start again: what new story did it create?

How the five fit together

Curiosity and humility are how you walk up to something new. Skepticism and mindfulness are how you work once you’re in. Collaboration carries all of it beyond you — into a team, a department, an institution.

The willingness to just try. The cornerstone — domain expertise isn’t the gate.

Humility

Let the work get torn up: yours, or the AI’s.

Skepticism

Trust no first pass. AI isn’t the answer to everything.

Stay present to your own thinking.
